The A7's basic V-6 powertrain also has a 48-volt hybrid-assist technology, which reduces turbo lag and improves stop/start performance. During ordinary driving, we admired the Audi's smooth speed. Its innovative all-wheel-drive system offered outstanding grip in both wet and dry situations. The automatic gearbox responded smartly to both relaxing and aggressive throttle inputs. Audi brilliantly balances elegance and athleticism in the A7. Its passionate reflexes and smooth riding quality were instantly noticeable when we were driving. Despite our test car's optional 21-inch wheels, the typical thuds from strong collisions were nearly imperceptible.
